The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a registered sex offender who has a warrant for his arrest. The office said 55-year-old Randall Knott left the state without authorization in July.
Detectives in Tulsa found Knott but he faced no charges in Oklahoma, so a Sangamon County warrant was issued. Anyone with information on Knott’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office or Crime Stoppers.
The sheriff’s office also said 60-year-old Frederick Britz of Springfield was arrested on Tuesday on an unrelated warrant for failing to register as a sex offender and residing within 500 feet of a playground. Britz is in the Sangamon County Jail.
