A bat in DeWitt County has tested positive for rabies.
The bat in question was collected for testing by the IDPH after they were notified of a potential exposure, limited to a vaccinated pet at a Clinton residence.
The DeWitt County Health Department says if a bat is found inside your home, you should immediately contact the health department for further guidance.
The department went on to say that the incident is considered an isolated case and risk to the public remains low.
