Gasoline prices in the Springfield area are a few cents lower than the weekend but a dollar more than a year ago according to AAA.
The current average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Springfield is $4.24, up about a penny from a week ago and up five cents from a month ago.
AAA reports a gallon of diesel costs an average of $5.48 in Springfield, 15 cents higher than a week ago, 52 cents higher than a month ago and $1.75 higher than one year ago.
