A Christian County judge on Thursday ordered a man charged with seriously injuring a 15-month-old girl to remain in custody. Braxton Williamson made his first court appearance on a charge of aggravated battery of a child.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office investigated a 9-1-1 call on Friday night of a toddler injured in a fall. Detectives said all of the child’s injuries could not have been caused by a fall.

The girl is on life support as the family plans to donate her organs.

Williamson’s next court hearing is scheduled for August 17.
