The Wisconsin State Patrol is asking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle that picked up occupants from a hit-and-run crash last week that killed New Berlin Police Chief Terry Nydegger.

Wisconsin State Patrol said a silver Ford Explorer and a pickup truck driven by Nydegger were eastbound on Interstate 90-94 near Wisconsin Dells on July 20 when the vehicles collided, sending the pickup truck into the westbound lanes where it crashed into two semi trucks.

The patrol said the Explorer’s occupants fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
