Monday night the Nokomis City Council decided to keep its police department open for now.

The decision had to be made due to the abrupt resignation of the former Chief Earin Land on July 1st.

In the interim Nokomis will rely on the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies to help fill gaps.
