The Stratton Building and the Illinois State Museum were placed on a brief lockdown on Tuesday after Secretary of State police identified a suspicious device in the parking lot of the Capitol Complex.

Secretary of State police then secured the area and ruled out any threats or hazards.

After this, the all clear was given and the lockdown was lifted. Secretary of State Police will continue to investigate the incident.
